ALI's feline population has risen since the early days of the shelter. We have two
"cat rooms" where social cats can interact and roam about together. There are several cats however, who lived alone with their prior owners, or are under treatment for ailments, and cannot be put into the community rooms. ALI strives to give the shelter animals as much of a "home life" environment as is possible in a shelter setting.
We are always in need of volunteers to come out and play & cuddle with the cats.

Many of the animals brought to ALI are here because they require special diets, medications or care. We have handicapped animals or those who just need a special kind of home. Yet, there are no limits to the love they have to give, or the companionship they offer.
